Football Recap: Broncos Edge Struggling Jets in Defensive Affair

During a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a close win over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Dominant Display Wins Game

Despite recording nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after giving up a safety in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce just 82 total net yards throughout the contest.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's 27-yard kick with approximately five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Attack

In spite of their dismal offensive display, the Jets still had the ball with a opportunity to score a potential winning score. But Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion rather than sending out specialist Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

Fields had difficulties throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with minus-10 net yards passing, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach stated after the contest.
